#1 April 24, 2021 (Saturday)
Alix Colin – Creative Atmospheres and Glissandos

Even with a lever harp, you can create unique and beautiful glissandos. I invite you to this workshop to discover poetic and magical new sounds. In active harp therapy, glissandos are a valuable way for patients/clients to play the harp themselves.

Have your harp with you and let’s enjoy making waterfalls of harp music together!

Alix Colin is known for her exquisite harp playing and beautiful playing of modal music. As a leader of the IHTP – International Harp Therapy Program in Europe, she also keeps very busy with teaching music at a lovely Steiner school and her own program
harpe sensible, praticienne certifiée

She has graced the IHTP Conferences and will be one of the teachers of the proposed Module 3 of the IHTP in the future! Stay tuned for 2022-2023!

Hannah Brockow will be assisting Alix as translator.  We are welcoming French speaking students from Montreal and Europe who are excited to learn these amazing mood glissandos.

#2 May 29, 2021
Christina Tourin – Celtic Music for Therapeutic Applications with a Celtic Circle Play-Along

Based on her years of studying and living in Ireland and Scotland, Tina shares her Scoil (school) of Healing and Music and asks, “what can be more healing than the ancient tradition of the metamorphosis process from seed to tree to harp to song?” In this lecture, you’ll be looking at, and playing, the lovely HarpTree Lament (sent a week prior) plus other tunes from the Isles. With Tina’s guidance you’ll see how the longing for harmony and deep rooted connections to nature bring forth a sense of connectedness.

She will lead a “play-along” of many modal melodies that will get your improvisation skills a fun workout. She’ll have a bevy of tunes in lead sheet format that you can download in advance of the webinar and she’ll talk everyone through modulations that will make some magical modal sounds.
