Tuition Costs

The Tuition costs cover:

The total IHTP tuition cost is $2500.00* and includes this comprehensive array of subject areas:

◦    Psychology/Counseling

◦    Living Anatomy

◦    Inclusive Attention

◦    Resonance – and Resonant Tone

◦    Hospital Etiquette/Self Care

◦    Death and Dying

◦    Music Therapy practices for mental health services and rehabilitation

◦    Scientific Developments in Sound Research

◦    Acoustics

◦    Music Development – including repertoire, improvisation, balancing energies with sound

Students have access to:

◦    Keynote speaker on conference calls.

◦    Independent study with supervisor and their payment

◦    Evaluations and mentorship on Video study

◦    In-Hospice Experience

◦     On-line downloads to music and support materials

 

TUITION

IHTP tuition is $2,500.00* (US) for USA course offerings. We take applications throughout the year for our study program that begins in September of each year. A non-refundable application fee of $50.00 is due with the application.

PREP school tuition is $450.00**   PREP students who enroll in the IHTP will be credited $450.00 towards their $2500.00 tuition.

** Due to exchange rates and taxation in other countries, International students in Europe will be required to pay 450 Euros directly to  their mentor.   U.S. $450.00 will be deducted from the total tuition amount for Europeans.

*a discount of $100.00 is granted for those paying the tuition in full by the given dates – see payment schedule below

Not included in this cost are private music lessons (if needed), required and elective text books, and the 10 Creative Harping Music Development DVDs. These total approximately $800. You may begin studying prior to taking the program. Click here to purchase the Creative Harp Series.

Schedule of Payments

• Tuition payments paid in full prior to the beginning of the course, will be awarded a $100.00 discount.
• We also offer a payment plan of 3 payments of $840.00 payable on August 1, January 1 and May 1.
• All payment plans include a non-refundable fee of $500.00 once you have entered the program.
• A handling fee is added for credit card payments.

 

Books and Materials

Creative Harping DVDs are on a pay-per-DVD basis. They are required for graduation and certification. Click here to order.

By purchasing more than one at a time, you save in S/H costs.

In addition, there are 12 required and elective text books.  See Required Reading List

The DVDs and textbooks together total approximately $800.00

 

International Experiential Specialty Modules (ESMs)

The tuition rate may vary from country to country depending depending on the cost of facilities.

 

Mentor Fees

Mentor fees will be determined according to country and paid directly to your mentor in your country’s currency.  $450.00 US will be credited towards your tuition.

Special Training for Graduates of other programs

The fee for people who are music therapists, thanatologists or graduates from other Therapeutic Musician programs is $1250.00.  This covers the ESM, mentor fee and Independent Study. (A review of our Standards module can be taken for a reduced fee.)

 

Room & Board for the Experiential Specialty Modules

Note: Tuition does not include room and board, books, credit from Arizona State University, travel expenses or the Int’l Harp Therapy Professional Development Gatherings.
