I’m writing this here in the “Announcements’ section…hope it’s the right spot. I want to say that I applied for the Jan Pennington Gray Harp Scholarship (at Christina’s suggestion on one of the first calls last fall). I am a rank beginner , and had a time of it trying to figure out how to record my submissions on a laptop I was still learning my way around. (lots of tears and cursing! which fortunately wasn’t recorded!). Anyway, I sent in my earnest plunkings and wrote my one page introduction and reason for wanting the scholarship. And I got it! I received $500 toward books/tuition for IHTP. !!! I’m so pleased! Thanks for encouraging us to apply–and I am so glad I asked the question ‘even me? a rank beginner can apply?’ Cheers! ~Marian Spadone
